Student Login Instructions

1.  Your username is your first initial, middle intial, and last name. A person named Joe A. Smith would have the username: jasmith  If you do not have a middle name, use "x" for your middle inital.

2.  Unless you have already logged in with your new Moodle username and changed your password, your password is your birthday in six digits. A person born on June 15th, 1970 would have a password of 061570.

3.  After logging in for the first time, enter a course by clicking on the course name on your “My Courses” list. Click the Change Password button on the left side of the page to change your password. Please also make sure that the e-mail in your Moodle profile is correct by clicking on Edit Profile. Some instructors may require you to use your campus Groupwise e-mail address in Moodle. It is important that you regularly check the e-mail address that is listed in your profile to receive communications from your instructors.

Proctored Exams:

Proctored online tests may be taken in the Highland library located in Building M on the main campus in Freeport or at Highland West in Elizabeth. Please remember to bring an ID with you when taking a proctored an exam.  Students who require alternate proctoring arrangements should contact their instructors to arrange proctored exams.

During the Summer semester (June 9-July 31) the Highland Community College Library offers test start times between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm Monday - Thursday. 

Appointments may be made in advance.  Walk-in testing is available, but may require a wait.
